PROJECT OVERVIEW
Mount Coolum Golf Club on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast had been successfully operating BioRemedy equipment for over a decade across their championship course. With an 8,000m² irrigation lake system and a newly constructed 500m² recreational pond both utilising recycled water, the club decided to enhance their existing setup with additional equipment while servicing their reliable decade-old units.
WHAT WE DID
- Restored decade-old equipment to optimal performance. Professionally serviced two Rio circulation units, two Force 7 aerators, and one Splash 2001 surface aerator that had provided reliable operation for over 10 years
- Extended coverage with additional equipment. Strategically installed an additional Force 7 subsurface aerator to provide even better water movement throughout the lake system
- Enhanced the new pond system with invisible operation. Installed a submerged Force 7 aerator and Brio circulator without visible surface equipment, delivering all the functional benefits of aeration while maintaining a natural water appearance that suits the course’s design aesthetic
- Optimised coverage across both systems. Extended effective water treatment across the entire 8,000m² lake system and achieved optimal conditions in the 500m² pond from initial operation
- Minimised operational disruption. Concurrent servicing and enhancement approach allowed continuous golf course operations throughout the project
CLIENT OUTCOME
The enhancements delivered excellent results across both water systems. The additional Force 7 aerator further improved water movement and oxygenation throughout the lake, while the professional servicing restored the existing equipment to peak performance. Water clarity and quality were enhanced beyond the already good baseline conditions.
The golf course superintendent noted the continued reliable operation and improved consistency across the water systems. The enhanced circulation and oxygenation supported even better irrigation water quality, while the aesthetic improvements complemented the championship course’s high presentation standards. The increased bird life activity around the water features added to the natural beauty of the course environment.
PROJECT INSIGHT
This project showcases the value of building upon proven, reliable equipment rather than replacing what’s already working well. Mount Coolum’s satisfaction with their decade-old BioRemedy equipment led them to expand their system, demonstrating both product longevity and the benefits of strategic enhancement. The project also demonstrates our flexibility in meeting specific site requirements, while most water managers appreciate the attractive fountain effect of surface aerators, for those rare cases where a completely natural water appearance is preferred, our subsurface systems deliver the same powerful water quality benefits (improved oxygen levels, better circulation, reduced algae) with invisible operation.
